Acer 144hz monitor flickering

144z 1440p 1ms 27" is exactly what I was looking for and for the price this couldn't be beat. It's my first 144hz monitor and I felt the difference before even launching a game. I did experiance a bug others have posted about where the screen flickers. Using the hdmi that came with the monitor solved the issue immidietly.

Acer will release a new gaming screen, the 27-Inch XB270HU. It is a 144 HZ TN screen with GSYNC at a nice WHQD resolution of 2560x1440. Fairly similar to the Asus ROG Swift PG278Q we tested here .

Here's how you can minimize it. Use CRU (custom resolution utility) to adjust the monitor's Freesync range to 74-144Hz - use the "Edit" button on top, then restart the PC. This disables Freesync below 74Hz/fps and eliminates nearly all flickering (the drivers won't be using LFC - frame doubling - to display e.g. 45fps at 90Hz ).

It looks like (if I had to be specific) the brightness is flickering. It's not constant but it's definitely frequent and annoying and increase in severity while in games. System is Win 10 version 1903, NVIDIA 436.15 (most recent), RTX 2060, Ryzen 7 2700X.

I'm happy with this monitor now. I hope I don't encounter anymore flickering that will bother my gaming experience. For now, the screen flickering I reported doesn't bother me. And Yes! Acer and Nvidia must address this screen flickering issue for a $2500 monitor and more than 2 yrs of R&D, they should have perfected this.

The flickering is a problem with Gsync itself, i'm not sure if it is just Gsync on the Swift or if it is affecting other Gsync monitors though. I have the Acer XB270HA Gysnc monitor and I haven't seen any flickering in any games. EDIT: Also new Nvidia drivers are out today 347.09 see if upgrading drivers helps.
